The Balvenie 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 43% ABV (86 Proof) | 750 mL

Process & Profile

Matured for 14 years in traditional oak casks, then finished in American oak barrels that previously held a custom blend of West Indian Caribbean rum. This double maturation, crafted by Malt Master David C. Stewart, brings a rich honeyed sweetness and tropical character to Balvenie’s classic Speyside malt.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Creamy toffee, rich vanilla, candied lemon, ripe mango, pineapple, and subtle spice
Palate: Silky caramel and brown sugar layered with tropical fruit—passionfruit, banana, and citrus peel—accented by gentle oak tannins and festive spice
Finish: Soft yet lingering; warm vanilla and spicy oak gradually fade to a sweet, tropical fade

What Makes It Special

  • Double-matured in Caribbean rum-seasoned American oak casks, a Balvenie tradition since the 1980s

  • Maintains the distillery’s honeyed signature while introducing lush tropical and toffee notes

  • Award-winning: Gold at the 2020 International Spirits Challenge and 2023 ISC

  • Bottled at 43%, non-chill filtered and naturally colored for purity and vibrancy

How to Enjoy

Serve neat or with a splash of cool water to enhance tropical and honeyed elements. Also delightful over a large ice sphere or as a refined base in a Rum-Cask Old Fashioned.
